As part of the new development of the U-Tech Flex personal protection system, industrialpartners GmbH was commissioned as the central development partner for the holistic product development. </p>
<p>The aim of the project was to develop a technically mature, robust and user-friendly personal protection system that meets the highest standards of safety, ergonomics and industrial usability. industrialpartners played a key role throughout the entire development process &#8211; from the initial concept phase through to production preparation. </p>

<p>In the U-Tech Flex project, industrialpartners was responsible for a comprehensive range of services:</p>
<p>Product design &amp; industrial design<br />
Development of a functional and clearly structured design with a focus on ergonomics, intuitive usability and industrial robustness.</p>

Design and construction of all mechanical components, including plastic-compatible design for subsequent series production and definition of individual articles.</p>
<p>Technical documentation<br />
Creation of technical product and manufacturing documentation as a basis for production, quality assurance and approval.</p>
<p>Sample and prototype construction<br />
Construction of functional samples and prototypes to validate design, mechanics and assembly concepts.</p>
<p>Supplier and production partner selection<br />
Identification, evaluation and selection of suitable production partners, in particular for injection moulded parts and mechanical components, including technical coordination and industrialization support.</p>
<p>Another key success factor of the project was the close cooperation within an efficient partner network.</p>
<p>The input solutions and HMI components were realized by Hoffmann + Krippner GmbH from Buchen (member of the HK.Systems holding company). Overall production, electronics manufacturing and quality and logistics management are carried out by EPSA Elektronik &amp; Präzisionsbau Saalfeld GmbH. </p>
<p>Result</p>
<p>The U-Tech Flex personal protection system is a modern, flexible and reliable system that sets new standards in its product category. The project is an example of successful, interdisciplinary product development &#8220;Made in Germany&#8221; &#8211; characterized by clear processes, technical excellence and partnership-based cooperation. </p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Munich-based developers Alexander Schneider and Sebastian Müller are behind the start-up company Rapitag. The two have a heart for customers under time pressure. That&#8217;s why they have developed an intelligent anti-theft device that gives consumers a new kind of shopping experience.</p>
<p>Rapitag allows customers to pay for the selected product on the spot directly at the shelf using their smartphone. In a large German electronics chain in Munich, the technology has already found its way into the headphone department. Anyone who wants to treat themselves to new headphones here can benefit from the innovative payment technology. The buyer simply downloads an app onto their smartphone. After registering and paying for the desired headphones, the customer holds the cell phone up to the product&#8217;s anti-theft device. This is then automatically unlocked, remains in the store and the customer can leave the store with the goods.</p>
<p>No need to queue at the checkout.</p>
<p>If reading this article makes you think of the self-checkout systems of a large Swedish furniture store and some supermarkets, you&#8217;re not entirely wrong, but what&#8217;s new and innovative about Rapitag is the added value for the customer. What exactly does that mean? Queuing is queuing. Whether a customer is queuing at the central checkout or a self-checkout is actually relatively irrelevant. Both cost valuable time. This is exactly what Rapitag wants to help customers save. Mobile payment also offers no real added value for customers &#8211; although they can pay with their smartphone, they still have to queue and wait in the traditional checkout line. This is where the Munich-based company&#8217;s new technology comes in, aiming to provide customers with a simple and convenient shopping experience on the one hand and offer retailers security with intelligent anti-theft protection on the other.</p>
<p>According to the founders of the innovative technology, they are in negotiations with several large European and American fashion chains. They see the main advantage of their invention for retailers in the fact that traditional retail with Rapitag can regain more influence in a market dominated by e-commerce. The introduction of new technology can help to market your own business in the media as extremely innovative. Both retailers and customers under time pressure can therefore benefit from the Rapitag intelligent anti-theft system.</p>
<p>The innovative project was realized by the engineering and design office &#8220;industrialpartners&#8221;, among others. The German company, which has offices in Frankfurt am Main, the Odenwald and the Chinese port city of Tianjin, supports its customers from the initial idea to the development of the entire product. The creative minds at &#8220;industrialpartners&#8221; were responsible for the concept development of the housing solution for the intelligent anti-theft device, the subsequent mechanical development and the production of a small series of 300 of these tags. The team, which has won several awards for its design ideas, used the HP Multi Jet Fusion 4200 production system to produce the small series. This system makes it possible for the first time to produce components with a density approaching one hundred percent, which surpass laser-sintered parts in terms of strength and load-bearing capacity and are also virtually isotropic. The advantages of high speed and low material costs, combined with extremely short turnaround times, make this rapid prototyping process one of the most cost-effective additive manufacturing processes available and can permanently replace the conventional plastic injection molding process for the production of small series on an industrial scale.</p>

<p>An IoT smart tag developed by Conbee GmbH was named best product of the year at LogiMAT 2017.</p>
<p>Managing Director Michael Nickolai explains the advantages of the sensor as follows:<br />
With the help of IoT smart tags, companies are able to improve their warehouse concepts, save resources and optimize their logistics processes across the entire supply chain. In this way, effective information generation becomes child&#8217;s play. The intelligent sensor system transmits data and information about the surroundings, status and movement of all vehicles and devices on the company premises in real time.</p>
<p>The battery-operated Smart Tag has also been optimized for maximum runtime with minimum energy consumption and provides up to three years of service even with intensive use. The IoT smart tag is also available in two extremely robust (ruggedized) versions aimed at the industrial market in harsh environments.</p>
<p>The designers and engineers from industrialpartners and their creative ideas were responsible for the product design and mechanical development of the smart sensors B200R &#8211; Rugged Smart TAG and B400R &#8211; Rugged Smart TAG.</p>
<p>Small but powerful: The robust B200R has the special feature of integrated temperature monitoring. This makes it possible to smartly control and monitor critical processes using the tag: For example, compliance with the cold chain for certain products or triggering alarms when critical threshold values are reached. The integrated radio module transmits the recorded sensor data wirelessly and therefore does not require a SIM card. The IoT smart tag B400R is also characterized by its robust housing, offers authentication functions as a configurable tag and is fraud-proof.</p>
<p>Using the innovative HP Multi Jet Fusion 4200 production system, the industrialpartners team realized the production of a small series of IoT smart tags in-house. Several hundred of the smart tags were manufactured using the rapid prototyping process, which combines high speed with short turnaround times and low material costs and is still one of the most cost-effective additive manufacturing processes.</p>
<p>Whether goods logistics, airport logistics, construction site logistics or warehouse logistics: the modular and scalable IoT Smart Tag offers fast and efficient solutions wherever search times need to be minimized, operations optimized, circulation processes improved or simply an overview of the inventory needs to be maintained. The ability to adapt to individual application requirements combined with high process reliability and greater transparency in asset management make IoT smart tag sensors the new stars in the intralogistics world.</p>

<p>The topic of &#8220;animal welfare&#8221; has recently been discussed with great attention and justification.</p>
<p>Two Odenwald companies are providing technical assistance with a special innovative veterinary product. In order to protect animals and humans during difficult or dangerous medical treatments and care measures, such as hoof care, the company Industrialpartners GmbH, based in the Oberzent district of Olfen, has developed the &#8220;Gentler&#8221; system based on stimulation current therapy technology for K+N SALES UG from Fränkisch-Crumbach.</p>
<p>Whereas in the past it was usually necessary to restrain the animals with clamping frames or use medication to keep them calm for the duration of a procedure, the &#8220;Gentler&#8221; offers a safe and gentle alternative to protect animals and humans. Especially during dehorning, hoof trimming, milking or other veterinary procedures, animals are often under stress and can become a great danger to humans and themselves through hoof kicks or uncontrolled movements.</p>
<p>The &#8220;Gentler&#8221;, which weighs just 1.2 kg, effectively prevents this. It stimulates the animal&#8217;s nervous system by means of an electronic impulse in which the ergonomically shaped tip of the probe is inserted rectally into the animal. The stimulation current impulse can then effectively immobilize the animal by temporarily anaesthetizing part of the muscles, which is completely harmless to the animal&#8217;s health.</p>
<p>The creative team of Industrialpartners GmbH from Oberzent with its engineers and product designers is responsible for the electronic and mechanical development of the product, as well as the design development, article construction and industrialization from a single source for the design of the appearance of the new &#8220;Gentler&#8221; brand.</p>
<p>In addition, a small series was produced on an industrial scale to speed up the product&#8217;s market launch. The production of a small series could be realized in enormously short periods of time thanks to the production method of additive 3D manufacturing used by Industrialpartners in conjunction with innovative surface treatments, which benefited the market launch of the &#8220;Gentler&#8221;.</p>
<p>The entire corporate product design for the veterinary product used for marketing also comes from the designers at industrialpartners. This included the design of the product logo, claims and the product website, as well as the layout and production of the operating instructions, the product brochure and the development and production of the product packaging,</p>
